Paired Data
Two data sets are "paired" when the following one-to-one
relationship exists between values in the two data sets.
- Each data set has the same number of data points.
- Each data point in one data set is related to one, and only one, data
point in the other data set.
An example of paired data would be a before-after drug test. The researcher
might record the blood pressure of each subject in the study,
before and after a drug is administered. These measurements would be
paired data, since each "before" measure is related only to the
"after" measure from the same subject.
Use a
matched-pairs t-test to see if there is a significant difference
in means from paired data.
